A Special Holiday Chapel
Date: 12/21/2017

Holiday ChapelJust before Cardigan's Winter Vacation began, our community gathered to celebrate the season with our annual Holiday Chapel. It was an evening filled with music, song, candlelight, and even story time as we treated to a reading of the “Gift of the Magi.”

Written in 1905 by O. Henry, the short story introduces us to a young married couple and how they deal with buying secret Christmas gifts for each other with very little money. Several members of our faculty and two students performed the story for our community.

Cardigan’s Glee Club filled the Chapel with festive song, as they performed “Personet Hodie,” a Christmas carol originally published in 1582 as their gift of music. The voices of the entire school came together to perform the classic “Silent Night” in nine different languages: English, Russian, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Arabic, Finnish, Czech, Dutch, and Thai.
