Welcome to Cardigan

Chris DayDear friends and visitors,

Welcome to Cardigan Mountain School, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.

For over 70 years, Cardigan has developed and refined a traditional yet innovative program designed to meet the unique needs of middle school boys. Our program balances the cultivation of mind, body, and spirit, providing a well-rounded education grounded in a shared set of core values: compassion, respect, integrity, and courage. These are not words tossed around casually, but rather principles we live by daily. We are kind and helpful to one another. We care for ourselves, for each other, and for our school. We are honest in our dealings with one another, and true to our word. We learn from our failures, and grow through challenge. And we have a lot of fun along the way.

My first exposure to the School's powerful mission was as a parent. I am the proud father of two Cardigan students (Charlie '12 and Henry '13). I watched them grow as students, athletes, and people during their time here. Like past and future Cardigan graduates, they left this school well-prepared for the rigors and demands of secondary school and higher education, and for their roles in a global world.

"The Point" is both a place and a journey. It's a place we hope you will visit soon, as the best way to understand Cardigan is to see and feel it for yourself. And it's a journey that we hope you'll consider taking with us.

To plan a visit, or explore the possibility of becoming a Cardigan student, please contact our Admissions Office. I wish you the best in your search for the right school for you and your family, and hope that you will find a home here at Cardigan.
