At Cardigan, our alumni are part of our family. We encourage them to regard the School as their home away from home, and as such, they are welcome back any time with or without advance notice. We’re always happy to see familiar faces and give them a tour of the most recent updates and improvements.
For Cougars who are unable to make it to campus, our Development and Alumni teams travel all over the world to reunite friends and former classmates. Keep your eyes open for an invitation to an event near you. Whether it’s here in New Hampshire or in your hometown, we’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
Homecoming Weekend and Eaglebrook Day - October
During the fall Homecoming Weekend, we cheer on our athletes to "Beat the Bird!" while celebrating 40, 30, 25, 10, and 7-year reunions.
Alumni Winter Weekend - March
Once a year, Cardigan alumni are invited to get together for one fantastic, frozen weekend! The weekend kicks off with the traditional Alumni Hockey Game—now in its 29th year!
For more than a quarter century former Cardigan players have enjoyed the late-winter opportunity to gather on The Point for a fun-filled game of hockey with old friends. The puck drops at 11:30 a.m. on what has become one of Cardigan’s most cherished traditions, with players spanning the decades from the 1960s, right up to the young bucks of last year’s squad. A post game luncheon is on the schedule, so bring the family along too. Make your plans today to lace ‘em up and mix it up again in Turner Arena!
Alumni Tie Ceremony
At Cardigan, we believe in the value of participation in the life of the School, even (and perhaps especially) after diplomas have been handed out. To that end, it is an enduring tradition on The Point for graduating seniors to receive a special brand of neckwear, in the hope that they will always keep close “ties” with Cardigan. On the morning of Commencement, we invite all alumni to take the stage in Humann Theatre and present the green and silver "Alumni Tie" to the graduating class.
Alumni Lacrosse Game
Now in its fourth year, this is a relatively new tradition at Cardigan. In mid-August, following the Cardigan Lacrosse Camp's final session, we invite all lacrosse playing alumni to return to Marrion Field for a friendly match, open to players of all ages and abilities. It doesn't get much better than summer on The Point, so bring your family, enjoy the action on the field, spend some time at the waterfront, and catch up with your friends at the cookout lunch following the game!
