Proctor Academy headed over to play Cardigan's JV hockey team for the first time this year. For the first half of the game, the Cougars did not seem ready to play or compete. An experienced Proctor team took advantage of this and scored four quick goals in the first period, deflating the Cougars energy level.

Cardigan JV hockey came out ready to compete in the first game of their afternoon jamboree. Both teams played a more calculating game and tried to limit odd-man rushes.
JV Hockey Succeeds in a Comeback Victory Over College Durocher
After coming out flat to start the game, Cardigan found themselves down 4-1 during the first intermission. Determined to erase the deficit, the Cougars scored three goals in the first three minutes of the second period, pulling even with their opponent, College Durocher.

The Cardigan Junior Varsity hockey hit the road for the first time, this season, as they played the Kimball Union Academy Wildcat’s JV B team. Both teams came out flying and traded goals for the first two periods.

The Cardigan JV team took on the Vermont Flames in a great game. The Flames got a quick goal early but Tre Ahn ‘19 evened the score with an on point shot. The Flames came back scoring two quick goals putting them up 3-1.

The JV hockey Cougars came out with intensity in their final game of opening weekend. Tadeas Bezdek ‘21 played a solid game between the pipes and walked away with his first shutout of the year.

Cardigan's JV Hockey team took the ice in their first match of the year versus their friends from Canada, Academie Saint-Louis. Having only practiced together twice, the Cougars started the game a bit rusty but had a lucky break in the first period when Avan Pyle ‘20 scored his first Cardigan goal on a dump in, making it 1-0.

Cardigan came out sluggish heading into the winter break. Cooper Warrington got the Cougars on the scoreboard and Landen Prince scored late to pull to within one in the final minutes of the game. In a Friday matinee game, the Cougars hosted a pee-wee team from Halifax Canada. While the game was played with no checking, the boys were able to work on their skills, and Cardigan quickly realized how talented this young team was as the game was tied 2-2 after two periods.

After the holiday break, the Cougars quickly returned to action playing Rectory's varsity team at Groton. The Cougars were extremely sluggish to start the game and Rectory was leading 2-1 after the first period.
