Right off the whistle, Cardigan JV soccer dug themselves into a bit of a hole giving Vermont Academy a 2 goal lead in the first ten minutes of the match.

It was a back and forth game for the Jv soccer Cougars, Friday. The Cougar midfield struggled to maintain their usual sideline play and, instead, relied on the defenders to send longer balls up the field. The Cardigan defenders played strong and allowed very few shots during both halves of the game.

JV Soccer Beats Hanover on Family Weekend
The JV Cougars came to play today, and what a showing! The first half was an end to end battle, both teams with several great chances. Zach Hawthorne ‘20 held strong for many threatening shots by the Hanover squad. In the first half, the Cougars struck first with a beauty of a goal scored by Kyle Murray-Smith ‘20, assist from Zach Miles ‘21.

In the cold, crisp, Autumn air, the JV soccer squad took on High Mowing. It was a beautiful day to play soccer, the sun evening shining for moments in the second half. In the first half of the game, the Cougar boys came out to play, maintaining possession throughout.

JV Soccer Catches Fire During Second Half Against Woodstock
In the first half of the match, the Cardigan JV soccer Cougars played beautiful soccer but simply could not finish. In the second half, it was a different story, the Cougars executed their game plan bountifully and putting the ball in the back of the net.

JV Soccer's Teamwork Leads to Win Over Holderness
The Cardigan JV soccer squad continues to work as a team and came out strong to beat Holderness, on a scorcher of a day. The field was much wider than the boys were used to, but they used the width to their advantage by distributing the ball to the outside lanes.

JV Soccer Comes From Behind to Tie Eaglebrook
The Cardigan JV soccer team travelled to Eaglebrook and found itself in a surprising goal deficit at the half. Although the Cougars controlled the flow of play throughout the first 20 mins, they could not find the net and Eaglebrook capitalized on a free kick and a corner kick. In the second half, faced with a challenge they had not experienced thus far, the boys played excellent team soccer.

JV Soccer Wins a Well Fought Match
The Cardigan JV soccer team blew open a close game with four second half goals to defeat a well-coached, disciplined Kearsarge team. After a very even first half ended scoreless, Diego Cortina ‘20 opened the scoring by finishing off a Lachlan Simmers ‘20 corner kick.

JV Soccer Ties Eaglebrook School
The Cougars played outstanding team soccer, in a 1-1 draw, with their rivals from Eaglebrook. Cardigan dominated possession and put a dozen shots on goal only to be turned away by the Eaglebrook goalkeeper.

JV has Strong Pre-season Tournament
The Cougars kicked off their season with a strong showing at the Cardigan Jamboree defeating Holderness and tying Proctor and KUA. With very little time to prepare, the boys fought hard against bigger, stronger high school players and, most importantly, got better with each game.
