Cardigan Hosts Lakes Region JV Tennis Championships

On Saturday Cardigan hosted ten schools for the LAKES REGION JV TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS. We got the first round in at the Ramos Courts and then made a seamless transition to the indoor Wakely courts. The consolation round was deleted and we went to six game sets rather than eight to get the matches moving quickly on the four courts. JV Cougars Mix it Up for the Win

The JV tennis coaches, who already live on the edge, decided to take a big risk with the match against Vermont Academy and had the players who play singles usually play doubles and those who usually play doubles play singles. It was lots of fun and the Cougars prevailed 6-3. Pi Mongkhonvanit played his first singles match of the year and won (8-1). Gabe Brondel lost a close match in a tiebreaker (

Cougars Win While Modeling Great Sportsmanship

The rain held off on Saturday, and the JV team was able to play its match against the Dublin varsity team. Technically the Cougars came away with a win (5-4). Dublin could not field a third singles team so with Cougar spirit and sportsmanship Will Bruguiere volunteered to play as a Dublinite. Cougars Struggle Against Strong Hanover team

On a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon the CMS JV tennis team traveled to Vermont to play a very good Hanover, NH team. The Cougars got shellacked (7-2) by the Hanover netmen. The two winning sets were by Jun Lee (8-4) at #5 and Gary Huang (8-6) at #6. Magnus Gadowski and Will Bruguiere played well but lost their sets (8-6). We certainly met our match today!

Beautiful Family Weekend Day Nets Beautiful Win for Cougars

On a beautiful Family Weekend, Saturday afternoon the JV tennis team hosted Proctor and won the match (8-1). All six singles matches went Cardigan's way. Of note was Kite Fu's very solid performance at #3 (8-0). Jack Ren got back into the singles group and won at #4 (8-2). Taehoon Lee teamed with Will Bruguiere, who was playing both singles and doubles for the first time this year and won at #1 do

The JV tennis players were looking for sweet revenge as they traveled all the way to Brewster Academy. CMS did not disappoint and came away with a close 5-4 victory. The ninth graders had their day winning four of our five points. Cougars Victorious Over Bulls

The wet weather did not dampen the spirits of JV tennis as we were able to host Holderness on our indoor courts. The Cougars got a solid victory (8-1). Macsen Elkouh came back from 0-3 to win his match at #5 in a tiebreaker (9-8.5). Pi Mongkhonvanit and Gabe Brondel won at #3 doubles (6-2). The JV tennis team traveled to KUA this afternoon and came away with a good win (8-1). Winning his first singles match of the season was Gabe Brondel (8-6). The best match of the day saw Will Bruguiere get revenge against the good player he lost a close match to a couple of weeks ago. He remained his calm, cool and collected self and came away with a hard-fought win (9-7). Also winning at singles

On the first nice day of this spring, the JV tennis team was hosted by Proctor Academy and won the match (9-0) over its inexperienced, but game, team. Winning matches for the first time were Taehoon Lee and Pi Mongkhonvanit (8-5) at #2 doubles and Gabe Brondel and Jun Lee (7-5) at #3.

On a cold Wednesday afternoon, JV tennis hosted a team from Brewster Academy. The Cougars lost a close match 4-5. Kite Fu continued his winning way and won his match at #6 (8-5). Jason Jiang won at #5 (8-5). Colin Rosato and Will Bruguiere both came from behind winning their matches at 9-7).

JV tennis went down to Saint Paul's School on Saturday and lost soundly 8-1. Kite Fu was our lone winner, taking #6 singles (8-4). Will Bruguiere played a solid match at #1, losing a tiebreaker (9-8)5. Taehoon Lee and Jun Lee lost a tiebreaker at #2 doubles (9-8)4. Colin Rosato played a great game at #2 but came out on the losing side (9-7).
